SpinWork - NMR Software solution

+ ]" ~0 _6 n7 e" Z+ i7 e4 q# o SpinWorks other function is the simulation and iterative analysis of & M; L+ w& p" B# C! ?( {: qcomplex second order spectra including dynamic NMR problems and certain* J, L' x# ]/ d4 L" H solid-state NMR problems, in a manner similar to our UNIX Xsim program. ; y# W) E6 t: C: X) e4 kSpinWorks 2.4 is the forth release of SpinWorks version to contain 2D ; o3 W# n7 A: Yprocessing. Full support is included for Bruker (XwinNMR/UXNMR) and: m* c4 a* t5 F+ G, T: Y Varian (Unix VNMR) data formats.

The aim of the 5 m. v* P4 v) [! R; F* F0 S! @program is to make a program easy enough for undergrads to process2 j9 \7 e4 q8 |8 z; Z# f2 g magnitude COSY spectra (for example) with a single mouse click, and yet ' G q1 U0 h& t1 U! C* l# Gstill be flexible enough for research use. SpinWorks currently handles# {1 p" L2 |( T' a7 g! M2 P+ ?5 ~ only one data set at a time. However, most new computers have: j) L2 k7 f- P0 }3 B sufficient memory to run two or three copies of SpinWorks% w! z3 e3 y" k# k: | simultaneously. This can be very useful when examining the rows and' o( i: ^5 P' ]8 E$ C$ m0 l columns of a 2D data set.

7 k, G, j" q- |# B' V7 @ SpinWorks requires a 486 or higher processor (Pentium recommended) / h0 G' v6 e7 }9 Wrunning Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, Windows 2000 Pro, or XP (NT 4.0, XP or 5 O; L: n2 a2 K, L' O. KWin 2000 recommended).

. H+ |* N5 Z1 q+ k( O Windows ME is probably O.K., but is untested. Installation currently " g# F N$ V6 M( l3 ]( u& P Nrequires about 5 Mbytes of disk space exclusive of NMR data. 32 Mbytes & p" S5 U7 d. ]9 G, r% a" K3 d4 f) For more of RAM are recommended, depending on NMR data set and f' d( j6 O6 N: K# F% j2 u$ j! ^ simulation sizes. SVGA 800 x 600 or better display required (1024 x 768* ~! h, r; }+ {7 w1 e or better recommended).

( E; w9 `2 \8 B* X4 e/ O$ j- Z: I For 2D processing a Pentium class processor with 64 Mbytes of memory is the practical minimum.

. P; p" o: ?8 B2 N+ s I For 2D you should also have your display set to at least 16 bit colour,9 W- y" h6 u. X" N otherwise the image and contour level colours will be strange. I have4 E! l# q- v+ c9 L) r$ y7 t received reports (but have not confirmed) that SpinWorks will run under1 x4 b$ `- y8 D/ v+ o Linux with the WINE package and on a Mac with SoftWindows.

% [' t1 Y! M, ^$ v5 P A three-button mouse is ideal, but SpinWorks will work just fine with a 2 { R. {9 m& v1 x* k" _two-button mouse. Note that on "Wheel Mice" the mouse wheel also serves$ {" p/ a6 G; t/ [ t9 o# x as the middle mouse button. The mouse wheel can also be used for 6 P U& {/ U8 U! `vertical scaling of 1D spectra.
