SpinWork - NMR Software solution

' c5 [7 u" x! w2 RSpinWorks other function is the simulation and iterative analysis of ' S+ f5 L8 M6 S# T6 U Tcomplex second order spectra including dynamic NMR problems and certain 3 v* F! {/ {$ y4 Gsolid-state NMR problems, in a manner similar to our UNIX Xsim program. ' t+ a4 e; `3 X. k% k7 USpinWorks 2.4 is the forth release of SpinWorks version to contain 2D) o; R& @# O& `2 w processing. Full support is included for Bruker (XwinNMR/UXNMR) and ' t8 ]6 D L5 D% N2 sVarian (Unix VNMR) data formats.

The aim of the ( D) T! ^4 `! Y pprogram is to make a program easy enough for undergrads to process & `9 I0 A6 z J$ Dmagnitude COSY spectra (for example) with a single mouse click, and yet ' H6 ~4 ~; f8 u. u: r; i: Lstill be flexible enough for research use. SpinWorks currently handles/ X6 z4 J+ _* d only one data set at a time. However, most new computers have : c- W+ U* ^* U0 r' }, k; M tsufficient memory to run two or three copies of SpinWorks ( @: X& V1 b" i5 tsimultaneously. This can be very useful when examining the rows and - B! T$ l- y/ F( \columns of a 2D data set.

- R8 A+ e0 l1 `& l8 b `1 L" xSpinWorks requires a 486 or higher processor (Pentium recommended) ) N3 u' I" M" \& brunning Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, Windows 2000 Pro, or XP (NT 4.0, XP or) j! u) e( t9 ]3 J Win 2000 recommended).
0 A4 k# T/ B3 `: W4 _% [' q5 a
4 t% `9 k3 m2 S, v; O; ^0 OWindows ME is probably O.K., but is untested. Installation currently8 G! ^2 b4 \/ S/ [2 b- _% @ requires about 5 Mbytes of disk space exclusive of NMR data. 32 Mbytes & Q1 q" X' u/ H* sor more of RAM are recommended, depending on NMR data set and; H0 N1 z1 R) d simulation sizes. SVGA 800 x 600 or better display required (1024 x 768 + A0 }+ U' D9 [. S% }or better recommended).

3 }8 i; h7 m5 u: s7 |For 2D processing a Pentium class processor with 64 Mbytes of memory is the practical minimum.

; `$ \+ v! q. J+ e9 Q/ M t/ E For 2D you should also have your display set to at least 16 bit colour,6 d/ ?2 C% {$ U otherwise the image and contour level colours will be strange. I have1 G) x9 Q" j% m& B7 S received reports (but have not confirmed) that SpinWorks will run under + `. k Z* U( H- \) j& v2 HLinux with the WINE package and on a Mac with SoftWindows.

. h+ E, o# M4 [2 g3 n A three-button mouse is ideal, but SpinWorks will work just fine with a 5 @& t; r; O) w5 I: j5 D6 xtwo-button mouse. Note that on "Wheel Mice" the mouse wheel also serves 1 g. Z; h1 v% j9 ?! v$ \) I, Pas the middle mouse button. The mouse wheel can also be used for' L T1 J6 h. C a, L) @ vertical scaling of 1D spectra.
