SpinWork - NMR Software solution

$ Z7 X0 O( t% g( VThe first is to provide easy basic off-line processing of 1D NMR and 2D data on personal computers.

V SpinWorks other function is the simulation and iterative analysis of: W1 Z5 o5 k5 n complex second order spectra including dynamic NMR problems and certain " r9 T8 p, \4 I% ?6 wsolid-state NMR problems, in a manner similar to our UNIX Xsim program.: |6 d: q7 x; ]' H; ~ SpinWorks 2.4 is the forth release of SpinWorks version to contain 2D 4 b* J$ O" n8 W0 H/ ]processing. Full support is included for Bruker (XwinNMR/UXNMR) and% L6 J. r5 i+ D. J/ B9 }! W Varian (Unix VNMR) data formats.

There have also been some ' ~; F$ g) V7 f) w2 g- ximprovements and bug fixes in the 1D and simulation routines, and these * e& y1 {; R; n: Bshould be at least as stable as those in version 1.3. While the program; v$ U2 k4 Q5 t/ n- ]* { is to the point where it should (I hope) be useful, there will, no8 `8 ?( }7 O0 P0 n7 I doubt, be bugs and there are things that don't yet work. The aim of the " W6 F. B$ `* l7 c4 hprogram is to make a program easy enough for undergrads to process ) A, l- }7 e/ }2 Qmagnitude COSY spectra (for example) with a single mouse click, and yet 1 U* M" z$ C! f* u$ g$ Z/ Vstill be flexible enough for research use. SpinWorks currently handles$ V/ o; d) r# @* i& a only one data set at a time. However, most new computers have! P/ O& U0 g! }: K! n sufficient memory to run two or three copies of SpinWorks 7 n6 }8 I9 U4 S! ` g( ssimultaneously. This can be very useful when examining the rows and ' }5 _) r; l9 b' v, t3 e5 R( Tcolumns of a 2D data set.

; Y6 M" W; R9 c3 h# Y: i# x% v SpinWorks requires a 486 or higher processor (Pentium recommended)5 i& _# }7 Q& u- C1 ~- t running Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, Windows 2000 Pro, or XP (NT 4.0, XP or ' h6 [# v' y# t7 Q- }( oWin 2000 recommended).

SVGA 800 x 600 or better display required (1024 x 768: u, z. r) m8 O# g5 t or better recommended).

1 y5 E- `. S1 P# g5 wFor 2D processing a Pentium class processor with 64 Mbytes of memory is the practical minimum.

' l) y3 R1 @! K4 S* } For 2D you should also have your display set to at least 16 bit colour, 5 _& y* r; P8 F) e9 z4 w7 D" \otherwise the image and contour level colours will be strange. I have5 k6 H# [! T7 z. m1 ? received reports (but have not confirmed) that SpinWorks will run under 8 p# L: [, X6 o3 S+ ^6 _: tLinux with the WINE package and on a Mac with SoftWindows.

8 w$ E3 A+ J/ }: v A three-button mouse is ideal, but SpinWorks will work just fine with a + i0 z, f: Q& `- T% dtwo-button mouse. Note that on "Wheel Mice" the mouse wheel also serves+ w. v" l; E" [4 V8 a; d as the middle mouse button. The mouse wheel can also be used for/ w# x! k; s8 f, s/ m* ?( ? vertical scaling of 1D spectra.
